Driving your semi truck up and down the Northeastern corridor of the United States can be nerve-wracking. The traffic, the weather and the road conditions can take their toll. So, it’s not surprising that truckers are eager to park their rigs at truck stops that offer many of the comforts of home.
Below are three of the best East Coast truck stops that really meet truckers’ needs after a long day behind the wheel.
Dysart’s Restaurant & Truck Stop in Hermon, Maine
To get to Dysart’s from I-95, take Exit 180 to 530 Coldbrook Road in Hermon. This independently owned and operated truck stop has been serving truck drivers since 1967.
It is open 24/7, although due to COVID-19, the restaurant has been closing earlier. Hint: If you like seafood, the Fisherman’s Platter never disappoints. Just leave enough room for a slice of one of their signature homemade pies.
Even though they are not part of a mega-chain of corporate truck stops, Dysart’s Truck Stop still has a lot to offer, including:
- Diesel engine repairs.
- Free Wi-Fi.
- Well-lit lot for semi truck parking.
- Private showers.
- Trucker’s lounge.
- Postal supplies.
- Automated truck wash.
- Truck, tire and trailer repair.
Make it a point to stop at Dysart’s when you are driving through Maine.
Love’s Travel Stop in Canaan, New York
Truckers take Exit B3 from Interstate 90 and head to Love’s at 12845 State Route 22 in Canaan. There, all the amenities that national 24-hour truck stops typically have await them, like:
- Hot, private showers.
- Clean restrooms.
- Truck repair shop.
- Retail shopping.
- Chain restaurants, i.e., Dunkin’ Donuts and Subway.
There’s even a designated pet area to exercise dogs that have been cooped up in the cab of the truck for several hundred miles.
Flynn’s Truck Plaza in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts
Flynn’s at 307 Hartford Turnpike in Shrewsbury is just a few short miles from Exit 11 on Interstate 90. This central Massachusetts facility is a perennial favorite of U.S. and Canadian truckers traveling the roads through New England.
Flynn’s also leases a secured, well-lit drop lot, and they will subdivide loads for drivers. As many as 300 semi trucks can fit in their three lots. Flynn’s features the following amenities:
- Private showers for truckers.
- Whirlpool.
- Laundry area.
- Trucker lounge.
- UPS and FedEx drops.
- Dunkin’ Donuts.
- Tire and truck repairs.
- Trans Flo Scanning.
- 24/7 fuel stop.
- Oil change and lube services.
Due to COVID-19, the game room with pool tables is not accessible. Brody’s Diner is on-site, and serves both breakfast and lunch. Their chili is particularly popular with many OTR drivers.
While these are our picks for the New England states, we’re interested in learning all your favorites. Post them in the comment section.

Flynn’s, what a joke. I’m not sure where these secret 300 parking spaces are. At best you can fit 20 trucks, it’s difficult to fuel, pull in and pull out of and the place is a dump.

Reds truck stop in Peabody MA isn’t a big stop. They have room for maybe 20 Trucks. That said their restaurant is First Class. Calimari is Excellent. Their bar is full bartender’s are very good make anything you want. Parking and showers are free with 50 gallons. Good convince store. Quiet and safe. It’s located on RT 1 on the north side. Not well marked if you miss it keep going make the
Roundabout and come back. Usually afternoon starts filling up. I’ve always found parking as late as 6:00

Paid for by the owners because they know it’s all lie’s , all those commies up in New England want everything except semi trucks absolutely not parking and no money loads in or out of there any let not forget the hitler young ( mass state police ) and ( conn state police ) plus whenever you do find a truck stop they rip you off for everything plus $ 20.00 to park avoid the east coast and New England. Let all of them go to HELL

Flynn’s is a truck stop?
Who knew…..it’s like a 6 spot crap stop waiting for an accident to happen.
And people inside are so grumpy and bossy like you don’t see many places on this country.
The shop there is ok for MA but limited for major repair.
Good luck finding a spot there just about anytime of the 24 hours.
And the entire East Coast is almost the same….bad truck driver cutting your way most with funny accent and ready to die for gaining 1 mile per hours….then sitting at shipper/receiver for half of day without being hurry anymore.

Northeast have poor selection of truck stops, I think u have 3 in mass because they don’t like truck drivers so they won’t build any more, as far as I am concerned the Chicopee truck stop is the best one they had a great restaurant before covid who knows now, and as far as Maine thank God the state sees the parking problem and they made there rest areas bigger so thanks for that

Dysart’s is good. Solid food. Love’s is nothing special, but they’re opening one in Willington, CT. Same exit as the TA, but to the right when getting off southbound interstate. The Circle K/Irving Fuels in Auburn, ME and Kittery, ME are usually very clean, staff friendly, and better food than you’ll find at Love’s.

Ain’t been up north in years, seems I’m not missing a thing
