Can someone please explain to me why some folks are in an uproar over Mexican trucks being allowed in our country when I see a massive amount of Canadian trucks running here? Do they not pose the same U.S. job loss issue? Just curious that's all...

Actual conversation overheard this week in OUR office.

For the PC of you, it came from a "Hispanic" mouth.

    Payroll offers the standard answer.

This was from a 36 year old ADULT, living legally? within the US.

    Any more questions ????

Oddly enough, I stated a similar opinion on different thread and no one agreed with us. Send all foreign drivers back where they came from! I say we should haul all of our own freight. If the load has to cross an international border, it should be brought to the border, stopped, inspected, and dropped for the other countries drivers to deliver the rest of the way. We need to quit using excuses to justify American dollars and jobs to subsidize foriegn economies. Hell, we might be able to put some of these under- and unemployed drivers back to work and making a good living again! it's not racist or xenophobic to want to keep foriegners from doing our job, it's just the money.

See mexico is a 3rd world country with unverifiable driver training, unverifiable driver history, and corrupt to the point that you can BUY a CDL. Mexico is also lax at enforcing regulations and anything that is enforced is easy to make disapear with some pesos.

Canada is a modern country, with verifiable training, verifiable driver history, and very strict enforcement of rules.

We also dont have 20million illegal canadians running around in the USA, all of which are criminals, some violent offenders.

I make about $1000 extra per month hauling 100 miles into canada once a week. And when I go to canada, I get Pountine....and that is worth the trip.

I make extra money hauling into Canada each trip as well. I see no reason to close the border with Canada.

I have no interest in Mexico.
