this is part of my research, as you can see I am looking for different point of views but, the messed up thing about is no really answer the questions they always give a smart ##### oponion , that no one really asked for. Thats done a lot on this site, so some times I may get one person out of 400 to actually give me the facts or a good reference. Thats something I also researched:biggrin_2553:

####; I hate it when the "fright" is slow. It's always better when we have more fright because it keeps us on our toes. My bottom line is I'll not be concerned about less fright. I think he "fell" that way cause he was leaning that way--center of gravity was probably screwed up.

Did you ever think mabey your questions are the reason your getting those comments? I wasn't being a smart ###. I was serious. Every situation is completely different and you cant make any informed decision based on someone elses results.
different prioducts, different regions, different equipment. Mabey one guy is a workahaulic while the other guy is a lazy ######.

and nobody is going to tell you what their bottom line is anyways.

You may as well ask for people to give you the name of there Good contacts and shippers next.

Pick a number! any number! any number between -$10000 and +$15,000 and an owner operator made it last month. Your question does not have any relevance.

OOIDA clear publishes that OO's average $40K net per year.

Your question will provide you nothing more! Just what is the bottom line?? Is after hard expenses, after taxes, after a wage to the driver? It will tell you nothing about the effective ability of that particular business to provide for the owners. Without being able to audit the financial and tax returns, it is just a number. There are very profitable businesses that show red ink, and businesses with black ink that are going broke.

So, even if some would divulge the information you asked for it would be worthless to you. You are not going to obtain the experience and information necessary to start and run a trucking company on this or any other website even if it is here. How would you have any idea what is correct and what is some bozo telling you what the lot lizard told him last night?

Really want to start a trucking company? Go to freight broker school, take Accounting courses to managerial accounting, take a business tax preparation course, and take 2 levels of English and public speaking, and

    TURN THE SPELL CHECK ON!!!!

Latoya, you are going to get some seriously varied answers here. And here's why:

Example, my hubby bought a truck from another O/O. Went into hauling exactly what the other guy was hauling. In 6 months, the other guy went belly up. We can only speculate why, but pretty sure he was NOT watching his business the way he should have. Not making sure he was being paid for every load he hauled. STUPID....absolutely stupid. I always reconciled hubbys checks with our load sheets each week. And would find loads missing MOST OF THE TIME.

Bottom line is, hubby's still running, the other guys not.

You honestly need to research your area, your freight lane and the situations that YOU will encounter with the brokers/load boards, whatever. No one can give you any factual numbers, because they aren't running your business, you are.
