Hopper, Dump O/O's & Drivers

Don't think I want to haul sugar beets. Sounds like it would be hard on equipment.

 

Also I just remembered that front hopper was a job getting open yesterday. I wonder what's wrong with it. They made me drive over steep rail tracks to get to the drop. I didn't want to do it but they said that's what had to be done. I bet it bent something under there. Going to go take a look here shortly.

I'm surprised both hoppers weren't hard to open. That would be similar to hauling rocks. They usually use two speeds for rocks.

I thought they could get bad in Kansas but I think you beat us. Sounds little like silage harvesting. The truck has to be in the field behind cutter.

 

Good thing have some seed wheat screenings to haul. The other grain hauling is starting to slow down quite a bit. Happens sometimes, they get all the wheat out of elevator before a late harvest. Then nothing to do until harvest starts.

Hope this doesn't mean a repeat of last winter. Man it was dead! Been talking to other O/O's they are wondering about this winter too. If the beans make it there should be plenty of them to haul.

 

We have more beans around here than I've seen in years. As said before IF they make it lots to haul... Will probably have to take many beans to Wichita during winter.

I'm not sure what the storage situation is with terminal elevators, how much room they have. Many years ago one fall harvest was really bad as far as hauling went. Elevators filled up had to wait until trains came to bring trucks in. Pretty much a mess. The beans look excellent here too.
