It can, but I don't agree that it should. It's hard for the inside of the trailer, and you pretty much have to assume $50 off the top before your next load, so that bites into what it pays too. At least there was a fsc on it.
But, it fell right out the hopper doors as well as anything else I suppose.

Did you dump the coal in some kind of pit? With rock they sometimes have you windrow it. Dump it and pull forward and the rock goes out in a line.
-
A pit? More like the gateway to hell! yeah this place was interesting. The pit grid each square was large enough even for my size 14's to fall through. The front loaders around there were the size of dinosaurs, and the huge, i guess smelting pots, were like right out of a cartoon... couldn't believe the size and scope of this place. My 25 tons of coal probably ran the place for 30 seconds.

He had a load the other day that loaded on the rail tracks, came back home pretty upset, cracks in the new super singles. Had them looked at today, and the tire place said run it that way. -
That coal is not a good thing for the hopper. I went and got a wash, it was basically an hour of them cursing at it, and it still has a 5 o'clock shadow inside. Plus the gears all have tiny rocks and sledge in them now.
Never, Ever, Again. -
Hope that the load paid decent, at least.
Hubbys on his usual round this week, up to MN across to IL and back home. I don't think they wanted to shock him too much after our little vacation. But, he did come home sick, so I guess, comfortable is better, and he knows where he is going, so I'm sure he's much more relaxed.

Ok, well the load was designed to pay $2.75/mile for loaded pcmiler miles.
Reality was $2.58 for real loaded miles. After 211 mile deadhead and 20% off the top, I got $1.41/mile.
So yeah, still it was one of the better paying loads. $871.42 was my take for 617 miles. Ok, minus $50 for the washout.
edit: then I deadheaded home 300 miles -
Why is it, the load NEVER works out to be what you think it will be?
Hubbys done some lately, that just had me scratching my head.
I didn't tell you, because we were about to take off for our vacation, but he had to deadhead 500 some miles out of OK to get a load coming home. Everything was going to Texas. He was sooooo pissed. And he knew better than to take anything going to TX, because he wouldn't have made it back home in time to make our reservations. -
They have started cutting high moisture corn around here. Some going, according to paper, to Turon and Butler County Feeders. Rained 3/4 inch last night so not sure if they are cutting today. Sure had a lot of rain this month compared to normal augusts.
