On the omnitracs we use if you go to change duty status before your break is up it will tell you how much time is left to meet the requirements for the 10 hour break or the 30 minute etc.

A while back I pressed to change status but something caught my eye and I look away. When I looked back it showed my 10 hours was up so I switched to 'on duty' and started my pre trip.

I guess between the time I pressed to change status and looked back at the screen the last 8 seconds of my 10 hour break passed but when I OK'd the change of status it set it at the time I had changed screens so when I looked after doing my pre trip it showed an hour and a bit available time.

I was 8 sec short of a full ten so it calculated it as a split berth and gave that hour and a bit that was available. smh

Good thing you can edit on duty time.
