The D.A. of Oklahoma county called me this morning to let me know about the security guard’s suicide and that they were planning on pressing charges before he did so. You know nothing at all about what you speak.

The D.A. called you? That's unusual. As a rule the DA's office and LEOs that I come in contact with won't give out any information on a case still under investigation.
If you have an information pipeline into the DA's office I don't think it's wise to advertise it. -
I had a twenty minute conversation with him about the irregularities of a sleepy driver charging a security guard with a gun, ELDs, hourly schedules and the the lack of available parking. He was unfamiliar with the case (because the cops never gave it to him) but said he would direct them to send him the file regardless of their opinion on it. He said he reviewed hundreds of shootings a year and would only promise a fair reading of the facts. He apparently decided to charge the guard.
All of the information I received from the P.I.O. would have been available to any news agency who simply cared enough to follow up on the initial story. None did. Truckers lives aren’t newsworthy I guess.
The D.A. called me back today because he feels strongly that justice before the law applies to everyone - even truck drivers. He’s a good man.Gearjammin' Penguin, Doealex, Infosaur and 3 others Thank this. -

Don't worry, this will be one estate that will have a bunch of suits to the poor Executor. If I died today there are creditors who will want their money, since I am worth more dead than alive, they will get their money when the Executor gets around to paying off the bills left behind. The money designated for that purpose is already arranged and set. No issues. Storm in a teacup rather.
In addition to wage garnishment after Judgement are awarded to Creditors, there is in Arkansas a form of Property Seizure to be sold by the creditors to pay a outstanding debt. If you were someone who has nothing (Outside of a very narrow list of specific items you are allowed to have in the law such as one vehicle etc) There is nothing to be seized.
Now if you were with a extra bass boat or a ocean/riverine craft, a trailer to pull it with, a tractor to pull the trailer and thousands in premium fishing or whatever else in the property barn before the Sheriff made it to your home on record to seize the guns, trohies and so on all the way down to the bare minimum protected list. If you had a junker car in the far corner of the property thats been decaying for years, your good car would be taken and you would be left with the junker. Meeting the letter of the law providing that you shall have one vehicle. It does not state that vehicle should be able to take you to doctors etc. Thats left to you to fix.
I can go on. However.
The suicide may have the last laugh if all of his insurance policies have been in force long enough with no convictions anywhere and so on his heirs and surviving family will benefit very handsomely from such a situation. Even though they lost their loved one. Its quite possible he provided for them this way rather than the alternative which would be what? 20+ years in a securely controlled environment? I think he made his choice in the light of what was developing rather quickly. -
