I'm not the "general public", but I do have a question (about OH/KY reststops)

    OH Turnpike, and I-75 RA just south Cincy.

    These are super huge parking areas, and I guarantee that if you get in there after 10-11 pm, there will be open pull through spaces available, but they will usually blocked by ######## parked right behind them. Oftentimes 2,3,4, or more empty spaces will be blocked by one stupid son of a #####!

    I think this pisses me off more than anything! The thing is, it seems to be accepted procedure. Sometimes I'll get right next to them, and give them the air horn, but not often because I know other drivers might be awakened, but I don't understand why the cops don't take care of this. I mean, when 20 trucks are blocking space for another 100 or so, this seems like something the cops could do.

    Thank you for listening. :biggrin_25510::biggrin_25519:

    And if you look closely at the type of truck or the tag.

    It's generally one of 2 types of trucks, or from one particular state. But not always.

    I won't call names, since there's no need to start a pissin contest today.

    I was just curious why the poster thinks this only happens in those states?

    Not only in those states, for sure, just so #### obvious there. I'm not talking about where you may not have enough room to make the swing, but where they are parked, lengthwise, 1,2,3 feet from rear of slots.

    I know what you mean. You should see the way they are in other states.

    They are just as bad.

    I have not made a study of the company names, so I cannot start flame battle.

    :biggrin_25510: I wasn't thinking company names. I was thinking truck type, and state on the tags.

    well while i was on the road, it was not uncommon for the large rest areas to fill up quickly. even the truck stops and fuel stops fill up fast.
    usually when you get to a rest area and see trucks parked behind other trucks, it means that when they got there the place was full, and they were too tired to look any further. also they must pay close attention to their 14 hour rule.
    what would you rather have, a driver that is too tired still driving trying to find a place to park or a driver that thinks of safety first?
    if there was ever a real study of how many trucks are on the road and how many parking spots there really is, the government would find out that there is not enough places to park.
    heck go across the indiana toll road and there are 4 places that are just for trucks, and they fill up too.
