    A rolling tire has more traction than a stationary/locked up tire. Try not to stop if/when you start to slide.

    You only have so much traction to work with. When the truck starts to slide you are either going to fast for the corner, or you are trying to slow down too fast. Even worse is trying to do both.

    An extreme example is going down an icy hill. The truck will try and go straight with the momentum. You will be unlikely to slow down or stop. All you can do is ease off the brakes (speed up) so you can regain enough traction to at least steer the truck in the direction you want it to go. When you get to that point you are committed to going down the hill, there is no turning back or stopping. Don't panic, just ride it out.

    Usually you need to speed up to get the wheels turning again so you can steer, and then try to slow down when you get straight. Even slowing down is a challenge. Just plan on being able to maintain you current speed, not slowing down.

    Just give yourself some leeway to speed up when you need to. Start out slow.

    You can drive on stuff slicker than you can walk on. That may sound stupid and crazy, but it has been my experience.

    Keep the wheels turning.

    I can usually do the route in 7.5-8 hours, the roads are all paved but plowing on the rural farm roads can be questionable. the route has many hills, I have a steep short hill I will drive around tomorrow. one of the farms is at the top of hill...… on side of the road is very steep and short, the direction is a little less steep but long. I can go around to the other end but it adds 15 minutes in good weather. that steep hill can be almost unpassable.

    Depending on the contract as to what will happen over spilled milk. l have seen full tanks at a dairy with milk flowing on the ground. l have seen grade A milk dumped at a hog farm when the creamery was shut down. The contract in my area was the dairy would be paid for their daily average production. There was a lot of controversy over giving cattle shots of BST to increase their production.

    ive driven in bad weather but a blizzard warning that lasts 2 days..... could be allot more ugly then im used to

    Do you have tire chains? Even chaining up only the outside tires, two single chains, can make a big difference. Throwing a pair of singles is about 10 minutes?

    Power diver and one set of outside chained tires = hero trucker. :D

    All out tractors were tag axle to keep weight down (in calif). Here in Oregon, doubles tankers are popular and gross weigh is 105,500
