I been at home since Tuesday and coming out today and all of a sudden that light is coming on.
The light im referring to is the one with the exclamation mark. When that light is on the gear display on the dashboard reads "F" instead of the actually gear it is in and then it slows down to 0.
So I turned the truck off for a minute and turnt it back on and it went away.
I drove to my picc up about 2 miles away all was good, I check out the shipper and right when I get out the gate I get the other 3 lights coming on for the abs on top of the light with the exclamation mark
I turn the truck off for a minute do the same thing turn it back on now only the abs light is on
Im very confused since this truck is brand new and I haven't had any issues
Light keeps coming in for brand new freightliner

Quote from a friend in another 'related' post:
"Sounds like you picked up an electrical gremlin overnight while parked.
These do happen in the trucks, brand new or older life, from time to time. I've had erroneous warnings on the dash in every truck I've driven. Some were a few seconds, while others lasted for more than a week. About the only thing you can check is the radiator fluid level and cap, the air filter, the engine oil, the fuses, the power steering gearbox fluid, DEF tank, the fuel water filter, and the fuel. Most everything else I can think of is going to be either electrical and/or need a mechanic.
I would call your maintenance or breakdown phone and listen to their solution. Other than that, just keep an eye on all the gauges, watch the mirrors for prolonged excessive exhaust smoke, and listen to the motor while at different speeds and RPMs. It's probably nothing."
ps: Did you perhaps leave your fuel cap off?!?!?DAX_ Thanks this. -
When you first turn the key to the on position stop there and let the electrical system cycle through. Lights flash, stuff beeps and some models the dials in the gauges will move. Once it all settles then start the truck. It can help with the gremlins.

Sensors are programmed to read within certain parameters while the engine is running. If something with the engine goes outside of those parameters, then you'll get a light. If the engine continues to run properly within those parameters for a certain amount of time, then the ecm will see that and the light will go away. There is usually a recorded event in the ecm that can be checked, but I wont even begin to try to explain that.
Do you even know what engine your truck has?G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Since it is a brand new truck and you seem to be having issues already.
Many things are more prone to failure early in their lifecycle.
Electronics and tires come to mind.
Once you get past a certain point they are less prone to failure until they get very old. -
My 2020 did that twice. I have 60k on mine both times the nanny lights came on I just pulled over and switched ignition off then back on. Cleared them both times doubt it is anything to worry about. Although if it keeps doing it I'll run it to a dealer to check it out but again eh not something to worry about. Only have that crap on my truck for the insurance break anyway
