On what grounds? Those all sure seem like personal biz.

i meant specifically overshooting hours then pc to get to a stop. He mentioned they can site for that. I suspect like many things there is discretion used case by case. I was just wondering what type of money to see if it would be worth the gamble.

Yes you can get fined. But you have to be walking all over HOS. Guys have done it. They have fined them.

Eh, its not so much the gamble or the money. If you have a need that is filled at the truckstop and improves your quality of life (ugh...) then have at it.

Thats one reason why we enjoyed paper logs so much. Nicky picky little problems like that got papered over.

What you mentioned, isn't even a violation. DOT did a talk on Safe Haven and PC. Explaining. It takes alot to get a fine. Violation with Elogs is easy... no fine. Just watch that darned machine.

In over 9 years I have had my logs checked maybe 4 times. So what are the chances of being checked during those odd times when you may go over?

That’s the reason why personal conveyance exists.
Just had my logs checked a few days ago on a random. No issues. Ran out of time while random was being performed. Even told the state Trooper that I was going to PC to the next rest area. FM CSA has some good info on their website on personal conveyance use.
