Oh yeah, what I said has nothing to do with what the Safety A-hole will do. Just the insurance side of things. Some people always look to mess up people's lives. Some don't.

Your looking at >$1k in parts and a few hours of fighting plastic.
Ofc you will need painting.. ~ $400

2 part bumper with reinforcing panels behind the skins.

Run some bungee cords & gorilla tape until you can get to a shop. DOT wont bother you if nothing is falling off and lights work.

Deer don't stop like other animals. Once they start they never stop until you hit them or they hit you, especially if they are in a pack, or rutting (in heat).

They fall down when they are on the roadway.
Try to run, no traction and down they go.
Now the ones still standing are scrambling to get around the ones that have fallen. They start to fall and make things worse. Now you have a big pile of flailing deer in the road.

    Oh well......
You said " Just got hit by a deer"...... You did not say: "I just hit a deer".
So....the first one is NON PREVENTABLE.
    The second one ....IS PREVENTABLE.
    Your opinion counts.

I followed up with safety and told them I got hit by a deer.

He said, "Oh is that what happened?" He started laughing and told that he doesnt think thats how it works.

Anyway he didnt seem to care at all. Truck got fixed and I havent heard another word about it.

yeah goes back to it not being a collision, but being an "other than collision" or comprehensive claim. It's not considered a TA. It's treated like hail damage or other "acts of God." Not sure how Safety looks at it. But that is how the law and insurance look at it. Live animal comprehensive, dead, collision.
