Anyhow, I believe everything in that thread is priced as having your own authority. I'm leased to a carrier & get out a little cheaper. Granted, I'm not making the money as I would if I had my own authority.... But I don't have the headaches of trying to find my own loads, ifta reporting, or all those other headaches.

Please let me know what your final decision is on this, or if you find any good info, as I'm pretty much in the same boat. I have experience, but from many years ago, so they tell me it means nothing. It seems that the only options are: a) go ahead a buy a truck and try to find someone local to drive for for a while, or b) drive for someone with a training program for a year, like Swift or Schneider.
Neither is really the preferred way to go, but sometimes ya just gotta do what ya just gotta do.
