We had maxis on both drive axles on one batch, but the newer ones to our specs don't.
They replaced them after 4 or 5 years on that bunch, and they held much better.
Many trucks are specced on one drive axle only. -
I Guess some of you have never pulled an older trailer without spring brakes. If you only have maxi’s on one drive axle you won’t feel real confident walking away from the truck parked on an incline. Lol
bigguns Thanks this. -

Crawl under there and have a look like youre supposed to driver.
Youre gonna find a few sets of shoes not touching the drum. It may look like it until you touch and they wiggle freely. Now feel the 1/4" lip inside your drum that makes it LOOK like theyre in contact.
The slacks need adjustment. Once theyre all adjusted evenly, keep note. The slacks that do this again soon need replaced as they arent keeping pace with the shoe wear like the others.kemosabi49, Qbf594 and stuckinthemud Thank this. -

Not all of us.
I crawl under and look at my brakes.
And even adjust em up.
Slacks don't last long in the dirt650cat425 Thanks this. -
Dont blame me bud, you signed up for pretrips or being responsible for failure to do them when you applied for the license.
Theres a lot of innocent kids on the road. Screw the ELD.. Thats not making the road safer.. But stay ontop of your brakes for their sake. Nothing more important than stopping a truck.kemosabi49, 650cat425, ChevyCam and 1 other person Thank this.
