To the OP, study the manual, use the study questions on this site, take the written test and then either rent or borrow a truck with air brakes that qualifies (class A) for the hands on part. Remember to take someone with you that does not have an air brake restriction just in case they ask how you got the truck there. -
Well, I didn't consider that but I wouldn't recommend it unless you had a good instructor like a father teaching his son how to drive professionally. I can fly but I don't have a license and never had any experience flying IFR (Instrument Flight Rules), only the experience of my father flying VFR (Visual Flight Rules) in IFR conditions. So clearly I would learn more attending Flight School.

About a year ago I took a new driver on with he same issue.. trained him and after about 5 tries (somewhere along the lines the rules changed or OK was just being douche wads) he finally passed the entire exam. to get the endorsement here, you have to take the whole examination. In the "old days" to get the endorsement you simply did the pre-trip inspection of the air brake system, the in cab air brake test, parking brake and trailer brake test and then you were issued the endorsement.

That just sounds fishy. When I did my cdl class a test i had to do an air brake test . Tug test on tractor and trailer, all that ####. I also didn't know you could get a cdl without taking an air brake test . That's a requirement at the dmv here . My license says no restrictions.
FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -

Whatever is on the vehicle at test time (Or not, gets a restriction) gets a endorsement should you pass the relevant tests and so on. Same for auto transmissions, you get a manual restriction. -
I can handle a plane but it's not pretty. I am way better with a map and a stack of radios in right seat with DME etc. Even though we function primarily in GPS today. And require ground and flight instruction until I achieve the necessary proficiency. Which will not happen in certain classes above sport licensing for medical reasons. -
I have a class A CDL but no air brake endorsement how can get a job driving

Get the no air brake restriction removed. Unfortunately it will take testing in a vehicle with air brakes, a manual transmission, and a 5th wheel to remove the common restrictions.
