He agreed to run team.
He’s watching Hulu on his 10 hour break.
He doesn’t have to get up every 3 hours to insure that the truck is on time. Just once was necessary.
THE TRUCK WAS LATE. How do you justify that on a team truck?
No, I wouldn’t babysit another adult. First time I had to, I’d want him gone. If your end of the business is performance based, you win the big game and afterwards make changes to the team. Just because your team mate is a dud doesn’t mean that you don’t bring your A Game.
IS THIS STUPID?

I don't know what this forum's fetish with personal responsibility is at times, but I was certainly thrown into the cab with some real losers when I was slip seat teaming.
It sounds like this genius company put a brand new rookie in a truck with a guy who has just some months of experience.
He had 10-plus hours, so there's no reason he couldn't watch some Hulu before he went to bed.
I mean seriously guys. Why do we feel the need to pin these poor new drivers to the wall whenever they come on here with complaints? This industry isn't exactly all flowers as long as you put in the effort. Sometimes it sucks in spite of your effort.roshea, Bean Jr., Lonestar87 and 2 others Thank this. -

Parking on the shoulder is for emergencies, not fixing you playlist, adjusting your sox, finding a snack, etc. New drivers, smh.Bean Jr., LtlAnonymous, Vic Firth and 2 others Thank this. -
I think it is more interesting the OP snoozed for 10 hours, then snoozed more on the first leg of the trainees time.

Decades ago, I ran team in a food service truck. My team mate got into the habit of staying out all night during our layover at a hotel. We went to offload the final stop and he passed out in front of a customer. What was I supposed to do?
“Well, screw it! He’s supposed to help me unload this truck. I will wait here until Dufus wakes up because they are not paying me enough money to unload this truck by myself!”
What about my customer, the kitchen manager that’s standing there counting the product as I roll it in? Where does the customer fit in all of this?LtlAnonymous, x1Heavy, G13Tomcat and 1 other person Thank this. -
You get the job done professionally and then ream the lazy prick out for being on his Z-game all the time.

Threads like this make my head hurt, tbh. I barely trained my wife when we pulled asphalt; that was enough training for me. We had a good 5 year run, and done. Thank gawsh, tbh! ON to local/greener pastures here, myself!
Best of luck to ya, O/P.
