prbably one of those guys that puts 3 straps over that #### and hits the road. seems most them guys running that stuff , thats all they do

 

393.13(c)(1) only requires 50% of the length of the trailer to be covered in conspicuity tape.

The forum degraded the image quality a fair bit, so I decided to crop it to see if the detail shows up better.
looks like they should have had plenty of tarp to cover it, as there seems to be a fair bit of excess hanging out the back.

There are not nearly enough straps on this.
There is a stack of 1 or 2 layers up front with only a single strap over top. It's also a safe bet that there are not any intermediate straps either.

No edge protectors. It's debatable whether or not the cardboard edge protectors are adequate, but some of the stacks have nothing but tarp between the the straps and the edges of the steel.

Makes you wonder if this is the kind of driver that likes to tailgate 4 wheelers.

 

I allways put a roll of paint drop cloth under tarps a pin hole in tarp on top of those sheets will let water cover the whole top sheet and water gets in between every sheet, I have pulled in the building to get unloaded and the man ck in all the loads, the trucks that looked like the pic. of ripped tarps were pulled off to side and we were untarping when he said the plastic looks good and he helped me lift it to where any water just hit the floor, As i pulled out they were hand lifting every sheet off the truck and write up all wet sheets, they were going on new tanker trailers and repair jobs, they had one tanker that was bowed in like the vent was not opened when unloading?

 

A roll of plastic is always handy to have. I know I would have some if I was pulling those types of loads frequently. I used to keep some with my tarps. It also makes untarping a breeze.
