National 2 week quarantine??

In 9-11 they closed the sky.

In 90 minutes 7000 planes with people in them by the dozens to hundreds were on the ground. (That had to have built the mother of all planestop (Truckstop) parking problems. One plane did a short final in his 747 and deployed the slides where he stopped short of 5 other jets taking up the runway which was by now closed. Told the 300 or so aboard.

"Out."

BUSES?

"Start walking"

My exs parents were 5 and 9 during the height of fighting and bombing in Milan Italy during WW2 .Both of them only children with only a mother left to care for them as their fathers were drafted by gunpoint into the Facist army.

The stories they told of their mothers out scrounging for any type of food risking life to feed them was a reality many can't Imagine.

 

I live in Ohio and the response here as been phenomenal in my opinion.
On the 12th the state announced all schools would close beginning 17th for 3 weeks, banned all mass gatherings of more than 50 people and urged people to stay home. Folks didn’t listen and the bars were packed on that Saturday night so the governor responded by limiting gatherings to 10 people and closing all of the bars and the restaurants became take out only.
Ohio has a press conference every day at 2 to share the latest. The news to me as been positive relatively speaking. The spread went from 10 cases to 30 cases to 80 case to 120 case to 160 cases confirmed. So the rate of growth is slowing and hope today shows it slowed even further.
If everyone would limit the exposure to those outside of your home we could get rid of this in a few weeks. If we don’t listen then this will be the norm for months.
The younger generation should be renamed the me only generation. I mean I feel this group as most were born right around the 9/11 events and now this. But look at the beaches in Florida, they went on spring break and haven’t listened at all. We should close the Florida border as a result. If we don’t I suspect another huge spike in about 2 weeks as those kids return, many of them carrying the virus and not even aware they have it.

China did it and it worked. No new cases for days now, they are claiming they’ll be letting people out in a week or so. If it works, We should follow suit. These estimates of 160 million Americans catching this in 1,000,000+ dying from it are ridiculous. Either just let the #### price run rampant lock us all up for a month and get past it.. We’re playing both sides and it’s going to bite us in the ###.

 

Remember the swine flu back in 2009?
Over 60 million Americans contracted the swine flu and just shy of 12,500 Americans died from it.
Now admittedly this is a different strain and you cant really compare the two but it should make us stop and think.

how many went and got flu shots..???

no flu shot will fully stop a flu bug from hitting someone, but it does in many instances, lessen the flu.

my entire family and myself, get flu shots every year.

no guarantee none of us will not get any flu, but at the very least, it'll lessen the misery, maybe even lessen the chances of death.

 

Not happening.

 

So I guess I was wrong in what would happen in Ohio. We jumped to 267 cases and 13 deaths. Ouch! Looks like my quarantine will continue

 

PA is seeing similar increases.

Funny thing is, testing isn't increasing as fast as the media would like you to believe. There are still HUGE areas in PA that don't have any tests or access to them.

We ARE being lied to about the numbers to limit panic. If nCovid19 had a kill rate comparable to the flu, Governors wouldn't be risking their economies (and their future electability) by shutting everything down!

Face it, if this CoronaVirus is the "nothing burger" some believe it is, Governor Cuomo, Governor Wolf, Governor DeWine, Mayor DeBlasio and all the others have not only DESTROYED their own political careers but have ALSO sunk their political parties at the state level!

The reaction at the state level doesn't match the reporting.
