They do with the UPS Freight division. UPS bought Overnite, which has become UPS Freight.

Yes but It takes a while to get on there they hire from within you have to start casual(part time) on the dock loading at around $9 an hr and it depend on the area it usually take a couple years to get full time. They also have a O/O division

yea, i've been working part-time preload for almost 2 years now. i make almost $12/hour but only get about 3.5 hours a day. i'm just tired of waiting around and want to get on with a career. so i am thinking about quitting UPS, going to get my CDL, and get a job elsewhere as an OTR driver.

everyone keeps telling me not to quit, cause UPS is such a good company to work for, but i think i'm gonna anyway cause i want an OTR position.

From what I understand, UPS Freight is something you can get into without having to be a package handler for a while. That is UPS Package operations, in which you work as a handler with the hopes of getting a job driving a package car, and perhaps one day, working as a feeder tractor trailer driver.

UPS Freight is an entirely different division. They have LTL and truckload, and if you have some experience OTR and they're hiring, you can usually get on.

Most of UPS Freight is also non-union.

Can I interest you in a job at McDonalds? $42 a day is pretty sorry.

Unfortunately it isn't much better in trucking.

I was assistant manager at a UPS Store/Mailboxes etc. for a while. We paid less than that, but at least we could give you a 30 hour week!

You been at it for 2 years if i was in your shoes I would think about quitting I would get another part time job to make up the difference but It is worth the wait if you can get on full time there's no way you can make the money UPS pays it full time drivers with another OTR company

Sorry but you are wrong, last I heard there was only a dozen terminals nationwide that were non-union. God bless the I.B.T.

Yes UPS does have OTR drivers. Most go home everyday but they have sleeper teams that are out there also. I think they have somewhere around 200 in Louisville, KY. and some other locations.
