The biggest problem with Tylenol or the generic acetimenophen is that it causes liver damage if you exceed the maximum dose by a small ammount compared to other anti-inflammatories. Almost any other similar medication can be exceeded by multiples of the max dose before having damage. Tylenol is dangerous much closer to the max safe dose. I switched back to aspirin. Take it with lots of liquid or food and there is almost no risk.

I used to haul the raw material that is made into tynenol. The man at the warehouse said to me what was in those big bags, a spoonful is enough to kill a man in time.

My clinic says I can handle a max of 3800 mg of tynenol a day at my weight, anything more than that becomes a lethal problem with really bad things happening prior to death. That does not mean we can eat a bucket of the stuff with the morning coffee. It does not work that way for some.

Only after I stopped taking them, due to stomach issues, did I get a blocked artery. Widow maker heart attack for 5 days. A stent, 2 days in hospital and now blood thinners, statin meds and bp meds. One year later, 20% heart damage has been reversed. Best news I’ve had in a while.It took a while. Really came as a surprise

 

That’s true, one of my friends died from Liver failure. Hadn’t drank for years, but later found out he was taking 30 Vicadin a day. Knew he had back pain issues. Strange how the codiene didn’t kill him, the Tylenol did. No idea he was strung out. Another friend just got diagnosed with scirross, never drank. Just never know I guess. Seems the fifties is a challenging time. I hear if you make it to 60, good to go!!! Not sure how to interpret good to go. Just leave it at that. Lol

I've always found the best thing for fever & headache is Aspirin. Thankfully, I rarely need to take it. I don't touch Tylenol at all, ever...
