That's kinda funny. I'm booked through the end of the month and plugged the numbers in. We're on the same trajectory. As I said, no way I expect this to continue. The next couple of weeks could tell us what summer is lining up to look like.

Until then, enjoy the rates and the ride. Just think how much you could get hauling meat into NYC right now ;-)

Here's my numbers for March. I know it's not as good as some of the TTR superstars, but for me it's something to be very grateful for! My new slogan is:
    Make
    America
    Grateful
    Again

Does it have anything to do with going into the " high exposure" areas of Seattle?
What they offer from Chicago to NYC is laughable, as if nothing was happening there.
I guess still too many don't mind being "exposed".

Btw, I didn't make those numbers up, that's what he told me. He had LS on the door and a LS trailer. I specifically asked him if he was driving someone else's truck as and that was his % pay after the owner of the truck got his cut, he said no. Perhaps he was confused. I should of recommended he go to Schneider.

I don't think so. To me, it's just a reflection of a temporary rate spike on my lane, refurbishing the run on stock.

    Here's an interesting twist.

Yesterday evening the guy who heads up the lumper service at the place I deliver to told me the lumpers know carriers are getting more money on average right now.

As such, they want a cut of the action in higher lumper rates and have been asking for it, only to be met with the silent treatment from the suits.

I got to thinking what a royal mess we'd really have on our hands if the lumpers got together and just decided to call in sick with symptoms of a cough, a high fever and sore throats.

That $1,100 a week unemployment check is probably looking pretty juicy right now to some of these fellows.

I would do it myself as an exercise, which I need. I would not mind breaking down 28 pallets into 75 pallets for $423.56 even if it meant 8 hours. That's fine.
I dislike lumpers. The get on my nerve all too often. Disrespectful. They overcharge. Some of the fees they charge, I'd rather do it myself, if it were my money to be wasted on them.

How's that unemployment check even possible?
They make maybe $600 a week. It would be sheer idiotism to give someone unemployment check for more than they normally earn.

I used $1,100 as an average. Might be a little lower, however, the Covid-19 emergency bill just passed adds $600 on TOP of the normal unemployment check.

Except that due to current Covid-19 requirements, you most likely would not be allowed in the warehouse to unload the freight yourself.
