Detention pay only matters because you lose two driving hours that get wasted at the shipper if you got those two hours back it wouldn't be lost revenue.

it's should not be about revenue though. it should be about revenue vs. time expended.
That wait at the shipper is time I'm not able to do what I want. As it's time expended for the company I'm working for I (generic again) should be getting paid.
It's that simple really. If you want me at a specific location I'm working and should be paid for that work.

Any regulation that can be lifted for any reason is not about anybody's safety and should go away.

you know that if full truck load companies follow the same pay scales as LTL companies theyd go bankrupt full load don't pay as much as partials
you should be paid every hour in the truck cuz your local and all the things you do in your free time arer at or around your house
OTR drivers have most things they do in their free time in their truck so they can spend two hours at shipper doing the stuff they are going to do anyways the first two hours of their break

I'm not disagreeing in this. This is the whole problem.
If drivers weren't exempted from real pay the companies would have to charge the shipper/reciever more, thus the companies could pay more. Problem is it's a race to the bottom. That's what is wrong with the industry more than the regulations are.

I think most drivers make more than minimum wage even after loading times.

You guys go on strike I'll be out here working.

I'm not going on strike so that drivers like Singh, Sergi, and Boris ( You know the ones I gotta wait on everyday out here so that I can fuel my truck ) can benefit from my striking.

    Not happening.

You don't sound like a trucker. You sound like a shady broker.

You get laid off from TQL?

There’s only two things you can depend on God and change one stays the same and the other speaks for itself and please stop all this crap about strike that is so far gone it’s not even on the table anymore it never worked anyway and it never will so either drive your truck or go home!
