Detention pay only matters because you lose two driving hours that get wasted at the shipper if you got those two hours back it wouldn't be lost revenue.

That wait at the shipper is time I'm not able to do what I want. As it's time expended for the company I'm working for I (generic again) should be getting paid.
It's that simple really. If you want me at a specific location I'm working and should be paid for that work. -
PoleCrusher, nredfor88, Evil_E and 4 others Thank this.

you should be paid every hour in the truck cuz your local and all the things you do in your free time arer at or around your house
OTR drivers have most things they do in their free time in their truck so they can spend two hours at shipper doing the stuff they are going to do anyways the first two hours of their break -
If drivers weren't exempted from real pay the companies would have to charge the shipper/reciever more, thus the companies could pay more. Problem is it's a race to the bottom. That's what is wrong with the industry more than the regulations are.Dino soar Thanks this. -

You guys go on strike I'll be out here working.
I'm not going on strike so that drivers like Singh, Sergi, and Boris ( You know the ones I gotta wait on everyday out here so that I can fuel my truck ) can benefit from my striking.
