I read that @Moose1958 was an expert on this. And I'm asking for a friend.
Every trucking company is going to perform their own DOT physical at a facility of their choice, so would anything my friend put down on the MCSA-5875 during truck driving school ever make it to a prospective employer?
I ask because he wrote something down on the questionnaire during school, and later realized that he never had that surgery, and will never mistakenly mention it again on any paperwork going forward. He just got mixed up with medical terminology. He meant to write wisdom teeth surgery in 1981, but got confused and put down hernia surgery in 2005.
He realizes his error now, and doesn't want it to be a problem with prospective employers, especially flatbed companies. He certainly wouldn't want to be sent home two days into orientation or anything like that, or blow another good opportunity.
This is what I tell my friend every time I see him:

I'm not sure I can give you a hard and flat answer. It just depends on a lot of factors. My best guess is yes it can, but it's not for sure anything will come of it. They are looking at the MEs determination of your fitness.
MericanMade Thanks this. -
I'll, er I mean, he'll just have to take his chances and pray for the best.

Not sure how someone could mix things up like that.
From wisdom teeth to a hernia, and totally different decades. -
Just put them both down and quit worrying about it.

Maybe don't go flatbed then.
