Same for me today. Park and walk up to office. Door locked. Must call number posted. I start walking back to my truck to get my phone or a pen to write Dow the number. Guy starts yelling at me over the loud speakers to call the number. I explain I have to go get my phone. Then I walk all the way back and call them. He says pull your truck right there and we will unload you. Leave the paperwork on the trailer and stay in your truck.

I asked about a restroom and he just glared at me.

I told him he should probably close his business if he is scared of truck drivers.

Then I walked over by my truck and peed in his parking lot.

 

Oh youll love this. Loader comes up to me and yells to drop my papers on the ground.

Buddy that cigarette in your mouth is whats gonna kill you, not my fart cushion.

 

Theres a billboard in GA that says the virus wont last long, its made in china. While it is funny, the chicoms are kickin our ###. They got our jobs, our tech, our money, and we are doing the funky chicken on cue. I cant imagine how many memes of americans in masks mud wrestling for charmin are taped up in the bathroom @ cpc HQ.

Delivered a bunch of entrances to a warehouse in Charlotte.

And we’re all done at 1430


Get to tour the inside of the production plant tomorrow with the boss man and do some more jobsite deliveries hopefully next week before being cut loose but so far this is shaping up to a GRAVY gig

So I’m making a big move. I’ve been off duty on the street in a no parking zone in front of the receiver since 7:51 this morning. I’m moving 21 miles west to real truck parking. Can’t remember the last time I didn’t book anything all day long. This may be coming to an end. Plenty of loads but nothing worth my time yet. If it’s still ugly in the morning I’ll head farther west. Lots of $300 to $400 local loads. Not on my current business model.

I'm still sitting at home for partially this reason. Every load I looked at that was a decent rate was into a dead zone filled with $1.40 loads. That and I started to get an uneasy feeling of being 7 states away from home and getting sick, so I figured screw it, I'll install all of the odds and ends I've bought ahead of time for the truck. Rebuilt the Espar, replaced door latch, and replacing all of the a/c lines and evaps now.
