My son's wife's parents are both retired from the State. Drawing a really nice pension plus S.S. I guestimate somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 to 14 grand a month between them. House paid for, etc.
They were bummed their Caribbean cruise had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
What an inconvenience...
Not everyone is on the brink.

I'm not kidding when I posted that .gif from Dumb & Dumber showing Lloyd Christmas handing out money like candy.
My truck loan is an SBA backed loan through a local community bank. I've been staying in touch with them since this whole Covid-19 started. He (banker) told me on Wednesday about an additional opportunity being extended to businesses (via the CARES Act) that have an existing SBA 7(a) loan, which my truck loan is.
SBA Debt Relief
The SBA Debt Relief program will provide a reprieve to small businesses as they overcome the challenges created by this health crisis.
Under this program:
- The SBA will also pay the principal and interest of new 7(a) loans issued prior to September 27, 2020.
- The SBA will pay the principal and interest of current 7(a) loans for a period of six months.

PPLC Thanks this. -
We butchered our last two hogs, end of last year. No $$$ in raising hogs right now, unlike a few years back.
I'm running tomorrow to get a load of cedar fence posts. My offer still stands, I'll feed you if you help me drive 'em, no soup line here. Hey, there's an idea, maybe I'll make up a sign, "trade food for work."Snailexpress, Brettj3876, Ruthless and 3 others Thank this. -
I read somewhere that in old times in Southern Texas, Cowboys were paid by a piece of flank stake. So were Oklahomians migrating to California to pick peaches in 1930s.
I don't need that fiat money. -
I learned long ago, when they (Gov) say it’s about safety and not money, it’s about money.
(For those who think it’s politics and not money, keep in mind Obama just bought a 12 million dollar home in Martha’s Vineyard).
Obamas buy Martha’s Vineyard mansion for $11.75 millionSnailexpress, JonJon78, Brettj3876 and 4 others Thank this. -

In other news I was at my local Kroger and they are starting to catch up. Still lots of empty shelf space but less than last week. I’m thinking at this pace they could be back to normal stock in 3 weeks, except for tp of course.
HopeOverMope, clausland and Scooter Jones Thank this.
