They are, have you seen the job requirements?. Need to be able to wrestle 300lb caskets on and off liftgates and church trucks...whatever a church truck is.

A church truck is the 4 wheeled dolly you get rolled down the isle on.

Things here almost seem busier than they have been all winter, definitely seeing an uptick in trailers outbound to the nearest hub.

The freight I’m pulling seems to be heavier too, or at least is was last night. I scaled all four sets and each one was over 70k gross, with the heaviest one at 76k. Usually would be in the mid 50s to low 60s, and only pulling empties in one direction.

    MACK E-6 Thanks this.

OD started today giving furlough to drivers, meaning for the next 90 days people who received them are going to be off with no pay but OD will still pay benefits. The idea is hopefully the bug can die down and businesses can open up.

If the pandemic continues after 90 days people who got the furloughs will be laid off.

Opus, MACK E-6 and jtaran06 Thank this.

    Well, good for you.

Our inbound is shrinking massively AND our outbound is diminished as well: Normally 60 bills, then 12, then probably 7. Hours reduced about .5 to 2 hrs per day....

No pickups by me today. Couldn't deliver to 3 places because there's no-one there to deliver to.........

    WE. ARE. HOSED.

i don't totally agree. Anyways, i prefer to be conservative rather than overly optimistic when it comes to money.

i should clarify further: Since "everyone has lost their mind......," whether true or not, this has affected the economy to the point where it DOES affect me, and i'm sure most drivers.

That's why i feel we are definitely hosed financially. And that's nice way of putting it.....

Now, i have noticed that when delivering to construction sites that it seems hot and heavy as usually and doesn't seem to be slowing down the least bit.
