Don’t they automatically lock down when the container is put on the chassis?

Company I used to work for has a terminal near the big container port on the south side of Memphis. Two trips in there in eight months and both times that intersection at the port was shut down because someone couldn't be bothered with the twist latches. I've been through that intersection at least fifty times in the last four years here and only ever saw an empty chassis not stop when it's tractor did.

And sometimes the locks won’t stay put, so they usually zip tie them.

Sitting in Sparks doing a reset. Deliver Reno 5am Monday. They’re having a multiple feet snowstorm up on Donner until Monday afternoon. Out of sheer boredom, I came up with the list of the DM’s I’ve had, in order, since showing up here 7 years ago looking for a job.

    Kimberley
    Tim
    Curtis
    Mark
    Walter
    Kimberley
    Rusty
    Chad
    Wally
    Mike
    Jeff

That’s 11 so far. The last 5 moths I’ve had 5. I’ve always said, the worst job to have in a trucking company is any position in operations. Out of these 11, there’s only 2 that I truly miss and to this day wish I still had them. I’m not naming names, but the best one was the only female on the list, twice.
