If your in the hiring area Magnum would start you at .47 with an additional up 8.5 cents of pretty achievable bonuses each month. My bonus is usually between 700 and 1000 per month and checks average between 1100 and 1400 depending on how hard I work. It’s reefer work so you have some goofy appointment hours but we don’t touch freight. The trucks all have inverters fridges and tripack apu’s. It ain’t the be all end all of trucking gigs. But it ain’t too bad either.

Cents per mile is not the big determination of pay. I drive a Conestoga for only $0.41 a mile but I have had weeks I was paid over $1,700 and I've only been working here four months now.

Try to get an LTL job bumping docks if you can. Easy job and I can't imagine they aren't still rolling. Finagle your way into a line haul position and the money gets good and so do the benefits. But even the P&D guys do okay for a nice easy M-F business hours type job.
RV's went totally dead huh? I was running single pull for a smaller outfit for about 6 months last year but hung it up back in December after some trouble with the truck and found a local company driving job in agronomy, so I am plenty busy right now with that. I am surprised you can't at least keep the lights on hauling cars or maybe some specialized stuff like Sprinter vans or cab and chassis trucks with your 53ft RV trailer. If you've been running your own rigs for 20 years you probably aren't going to really like going back to a company driver. You could also switch to flatbed trailer and just run general open deck freight.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
