If you examine history you will discover that T Roosevelt had a similar problem with his military unit facing infectious sickness that was putting 9 of 10 into sick call and unable to fight. out of about 5000 he had a couple hundred still standing.

What does he do? Write a letter to his superiors and also released it to the newspapers of the time. To get the US Military to transport all of the sick out of the infectious zone in Cuba etc to Maine for 6 weeks where the infection cannot survive and heal.

Took the US Govt a while to get around to it.

I am pretty sure the Captian Croizer had that history in mind and repeated it almost 100 years later.

“Safety equipment” You mean the cruise sensor that will literally lock the brakes up on the middle of the freeway because it thinks it sees something? That safety center equipment? Planting the drivers face in the windshield and causing vehicles around you or behind you just almost slammed into your trailer? Or the collision warning device that goes off 45 times a month and yet there’s never once been a close collision? That safety equipment?

The safety equipment that I’m familiar with does absolutely nothing to prevent crashes. In fact, it’s more likely to cause them. At least in my experience. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think all that crap they’re putting on trucks is just “feel good“ junk. If you’re a safe driver, the nearest safe driver you don’t need that stuff. It just gets in the way. It doesn’t work right and it causes increased risk.

and don’t even get me started on the stop light and stop sign sensors. All that is is an excuse for safety to spy on you whenever they want. Oh you were holding inch past the stop sign when the intersections a quarter mile up the road. So we watched on the camera for the last 30 minutes. LOL

and do NOT Buy that crap that they’re only listening and watching when there’s a “incident”. Those guys who own these companies can watch you anytime they want. And I won’t hear any other nonsense about that. That’s just a fact.

It doesn't do that ("thinks it sees something") but it can...

The only time it would do a hard braking is if you have the cruise on and are asleep at the wheel.

Not sure what you're driving but I have that system on my truck and I've never had the brakes just "lock up" ever.

The first two times it happened was when a vehicle was completely in the right lane on the offramp and down the offramp not like right next to me. So they’re in their own lane exiting the freeway and I’m cruising by them fully alert, fully aware of my situation and as fast as I could snap my finger went from about 60 miles an hour to 30, seatbelt holding me in the seat. And yes it activates the camera when that happens. Safety of course gets the video and they contacted me and said not to worry they could see it was a sensitivity issue in the system. So they had the shop adjust it supposedly. I get back out on the road and I’m passing a truck he’s merging on the freeway. You know like we all do every day? A good half mile before I get to him I move over to the left lane. He’s probably doing 45 mph as he comes onto the freeway and I’m doing 65. As I get close to him same thing, no I didn’t swerve into His lane, nothing. Just cruising along, BAM, brakes lock up. Car behind me almost smashes into me. Lots of drivers have complained about this issue.

so what do I do now? Every time someone’s getting off the freeway in front of me I turn the cruise off. If I change lanes to go around someone I turn the cruise off. It’s very startling when it does that.
