I just wish Amazon would make it optional to do away with SurePost. Here in Maine, SurePost is an excuse to make deliveries arrive late. Tho if it stayed with UPS, packages could arrive 3 days early

Yeah it is always something in this place. Lot of steering wheel holders clogging up grapevine as well , there was some guy in a POS freightliner columbia that was doing no more than 5mph up the mountain the whole way up. Ppl slamming on their brakes cuz everybody went to jump in the left lane to get around, then u got the guys thats empty doing 50 mph , add some rain. Yeah it was a cluster ####, had to turn the cb off it was alot of cursing going on lol

Cursing is bad. But once in a blue moon you get someone who has developed it into a art form. You borrow those expressions and adapt them.

Back inthe day , did guys every jump out into the left lane doing 26 mph trying to pass guy in right lane doing 25 ? 3 lanes of traffic and no trucks left lane. Guys that are empty get stuck behind slow poke. Has to be my biggest pet peeve in trucking

I have been in trucks governed at 55, 60 and not only governed at that speed, but off it's power band unable to stay in top gear. Let me see if i can explain.

Rockwell 9 short throw, generally Detriot 500, you get I think it was 1350 to 1850 then shift (Redline was 2150) sweet spot was 1550. At 55 you are still somewhere in 8th. Its time to shift already. Makes sense?

Now you made the shift into 9th and find that you cannot have enough horsepower to climb a gentle ohio incline on the toll road. Which is like in some places the smallest of inclines. So your lugging to stall out in top gear, back into 8th you go. Then you slow to 48 or so maxed out with all the truckers trash talking you against a 60 speed limit. Because you are in the way.

Back and forth you go all day sawing.

And I got revenge with a fuel burn against the company too... 330 gallons gone in about 900 miles instead of 1500. POOF. BUY it.

Two companies in which I did orientation then issued the tractor to discover that configuration in the super ten I turned around in like a mile drove back to yard and quit. They asked why?> I said I don't care that you governed speed. But you will not ruin a good tractor with really bad understanding of powerbands doing it. Eff that.

One tractor refused 10th, 9th and did 8th with that hur, hur, hur, hur hop of a engine that is not getting enough to do anything with it.

And they sit there looking confused.

Im glad those days are long over. This was back in the mid 90's when the new computers allowed governors to be set.

There was DM Bowman with the then new Sleeper macks governed at 60 and frankly with those short transmissions it was no problem staying in 60 at power spot.
