The fuel mileage out of these newer trucks is incredible. If I keep my foot out of it I can average just over 23 mpg out of my 5.0L on an 8 hour drive. That's off the computer. Rough math at the pump says its a bit generous but not by much. Maybe 1 mpg.

Something tells me that in the near future, it'll be a buyers market for certain vehicles, particularly those with cash on the barrel head. Oh, they'll claim they can't let it go for that, OK, no problem, I understand, but here's my name & number, give me a call if you change your mind. You might be surprised.

I went to look at a haybine once, guy named his price, I pulled a wad out of my pocket. Would you take this I asked, nope, firm on the price, I gotta get what I asked. OK, but here's my name & number if you change your mind. Wife says, he aint gonna call. Well, I think he will he doesn't sell it soon. Sure enough, week and a half later he calls and tells the wife to tell me I can have it for what I offered him.

I did the same at a Ford dealer once regarding a late model Chrysler mini-van, was able to knock $3500 of the asking price. The key is, you gotta have the cash on the barrel head.

OK boys, I gotta get back to work, catch up later, cook on....

The only thing mine has that yours doesn’t is the tpms. That’s as bare bones as I could get a 2017.

I hear you, for sure. It like these kids think there 20 year old 5.9 cummins dodges are worth there weight in gold. LoL. They are good trucks, & my truck of choice, but not worth that kind of money IMO.. I'm also no fan of all the smog crap they've saddled these poor diesels with. Hopefully your home state don't have smog checks, like FL & you can have a happy free breathing truck.. :D

This is actually probably a great time to be a company man. Less stress, & seems your company is keeping you busy..

You may find what your looking for, & somebody is hard up for cash, resulting in you getting a smoke'n deal..? But also wise of you to be careful with your money.. Wish I had made different cash decisions a few months back, but here we are.. You are wise beyond your years. Heard you mentioned you already have 401k started, so I'm sure you've made other good monetary decisions elsewhere also..

Just keep your eyes open, might be able to steal a great deal, or wait it out till the apocalypse lifts..

Exactly, but it great like that, right..? All you need, not much you don't. Just more junk to malfunction as the truck ages..

Yep, I believe the only reason it didn't have tpms is because it's a dually & they didn't have that worked out yet for 6 tires.. LoL

They may have tpms now on the dually.? Haven't honestly looked in a few years..

Trouble is finding 4x4 that hasn't lived in the rust belt. 10 years is about the average lifespan when exposed to the calcium and brine. When I revise the search, most results are in Ohio.

10-4. Yeah, I just grabbed the 1st one that looked ok. Didn't consider the rust, or 4x4 perspective..

Just more of a thought that lots of folk forget about the b-series Mazda. Just one more brand to help broaden your search.. :)

lots of first gen tacomas and old GM square bodies on my side of the hill. You don’t see the Jeeps on 35s until you’re closer to downtown with the golf community brats ;)

I had one almost identical to this for a time in highschool. Almost because mine was beat to death. A rancher retired it from farm use. It was ruff. Think I paid 400 bucks for it. Spent a week getting the cow dung out of the inside. Then knocked the bed off sliding into a pole at a undisclosed highschool. Off off, laying next to it and it landed me in the passanger seat. Survived a quit swim in the river even and being jumped more than once. Then they wanted 400 bucks for a starter.
