What is it with reefers parking next to us flatbedders?

A reefer unit ain't got nothing on this brand new tripac I have. When I fire this baby up it makes the hair on everyone's head stand straight up within 1000 ft.

 

I remember that. Started out with an older moder tri-pak, switched to a new Rigmaster after that. We all called them Rigblasters because they were so loud. Then that was replaced with another evolution of the tri-pak, it was just as loud as the "Rigblaster" and didn't do fo AC what the old version did.

You know it's bad when a flatbed makes a reefer move because of the noise.

 

Man. Lol. It's embarrassing. Apparently the engineers never even thought to consider noise. When the AC cuts in it sounds like a Apache is landing.
Being the considerate person that I am I have decided never to run it at while I'm parked at state parks, but you boys in the truck stop better watch out.

 

I could care less what the fella next to me thinks about the APU. Chances are he parked there after it was already running anyway.

It appears Apus are louder than reefers. What to complain about now. I have never had a problem with any flatbedder I have ever met, but you can't come around here acting like a bunch of panzies either.

 

When I get a loud reefer ... or worse, now that its summer, a emissions truck running 1100 rpm with the ac kicking the engine fan on and off every 30 seconds beside me. I tend to run my 3406e up to about 1600 rpm, 7in stacks thru a tiny jones turbo non muffler/resonator will usually clear 3 spaces out on either side

 

That comparison is stupid...by your description even your supertrucker self could not put a 53' in that dock.
