I tried taking an advanced math class and physics through online/correspondence back in highschool. I quit after 3 days. Spent every evening after school that week doing 4 hours of homework and was STILL falling behind.

Only reason for attempting those courses was because the company I wanted to work for required them. 10 years later I ended up working for them anyways lol.

My son is doing votech for masonry... they expect him to finish that online too. It's pretty much impossible to learn something that's hands on, over a dam computer.

That's what we're running into with the apprentices right now. School is 8 weeks a year for 4 years to get the Journeyman papers. Sure you can read the books and answer theory questions but stuff like engine teardown, transmissions, diffs etc make so much more sense when they're on a stand and you can actually play with them.

That's exactly right. I feel bad for him because he really liked the class and was excited because he was doing well and excelling at it. Now he just tries to remember how to spell 'brick'.

That's what my daughter's are fighting while trying to do their clinical rotations. It all works, in theory, until it's time to do the hands on stuff.

Now you've got time for the honey-do list. I've toyed with finding something cheap to drag back to the shop to refurbish and flip. Just not sure now is a good time for that.

Ten years ago, I had a close call with a pulmonary embolism. A blood clot in the chest wall between the lung and the inner chest. I was lucky. It was the same thing that killed Dan Blocker, whom I've been writing about here in the past week. I spent a week in the hospital on IV blood thinners. I had a nurse on my ward who looked much like her. She was nice as well. Yes, it definitely helps.

10-4. I think I got it. I always figured the term Super trucker was something one did not want to be referred too as.. Always thought of them as the lunch counter clown that rambles on to anyone who'd listen..

So a Non Driver is about the same as a Steering wheel holder..?

I think I like this cover better than Quiet Riot's. Right on par with the original by Slade.

Joan Jett and Lita Ford = awesome!
