I have had some long deadheads with an empty trailer, Ft. Laud to Forrest City AR, but this was bobtail only. When Chris at the window told me to just drive to AR to get an empty, I just stood there for a while not sure if he was joking or plain lost his mind.

Got fruit juice not noodles. Everything in my load info was wrong except addresses thankfully. Thankfully Jackie at XPO was quick to get me the right info. No yucky midnight appt, 1045 Friday morning thankfully. Load planner booked the load before everything was fully set up.

Found out earlier today that I have a new DM.
Not only do I have a new DM, but I've had a new DM for 12 days.
My previous DM was Cliff. Cliff is "no longer with the company". He is "pursuing other opportunities".
The last time I talked to Cliff was April 2nd when he called me up and asked me if I wanted a load to Califnordia. That was apparently one of his last official acts as a DM for Abilene because April 2nd was his last day.
I, of course, had no idea that this had transpired. As I have mentioned before, I am pretty low-maintenance, especially on long, cross-country drives. Haven't had any reason to call my DM until today, when I had a question about my latest load assignment.
Some guy named "Win" answered Cliff's phone. Apparently he is my new driver manager. Apparently they just gave him Cliff's desk and phone along with some of his drivers. Apparently he is also either new at the whole driver manager thing, or new with Abilene, or perhaps both. And he's been my DM for 12 days.
Like I said, I'm low-maintenance.
Dunno what happened to Cliff. I think I heard Win slip up and say that he quit, so that's alright. I had a pretty good working relationship with him (see "low-maintenance" above), so I hope he's doing well wherever he's landed.Lonesome, JohnBoy and jarhead0311 Thank this. -
