Sometimes I get so tired I don't feel like racing the clock to get the paperwork turned in by 1700.
This is what it looks like in the parking lot at 1655 most Mondays with all the drivers rushing to get their paperwork in:
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

28 and Western flyer Thank this.

Well they didn't just do it in Georgia and Florida.
I had a 9pm in Reno 2 weeks ago.
A 11 pm in Topeka.
Going to Lebanon Oregon now.
7 pm delivery up there.
They didn't change the load times.
So if shipping is on time, then you basically lose
A day on the delivery end.
Because you'll be right down the road from the
Receiver that morning.
Then have to sit all day for the night delivery.
Then you have to find a place to park in the middle
Of the night and basically take another 10 hour break.
Because you won't be able to be somewhere at 9am
The next day because your 14 hours ran out.
Unless you know for certain you can park there.
And even then you still need time to get loaded
And get out of there.
But I understand why they done it.
I was at Grand Prairie today.
All the madness is over.
Only 1 truck in the dock.
Nobody else waiting. -
make a delivery at 11pm ... leave out at 1 or 2 am while trying to find a place to park
and stay awake behind the wheel ... one 'long blink' as we used to call it
and splat !
You just made your self and instant parking place in the tree line on the side of the road
or heaven forbid crossed the centerline into another vehicle .
And then too boot ... they will put you on trial and tell you ( if you live )
.. " why did you take the load "
" you should have waited for another load !"
oh well
what can ya do
no one gets out alive
Western flyer Thanks this. -
