Why are you tarping a load of lumber that's already covered?

    What if...

Everyone has gone to lunch where you're picking up? Well, you eat lunch too.

I'm sitting 50mi from the house with the dilemma of "go home for 10hrs or race the clock out to W Tx and sit till tomorrow morning. I'm at an 50/50 split right now.

    650cat425 and WesternPlains Thank this.

They paid for it because the ahole broker upsold them a tarp job for probably twice or 3x's what you're getting paid. I learned that trick a couple yrs ago when I actually got #####ed at by a guy where I was dropping off..."I don't know why you guys always bring this stuff in here tarped. It all sits outside anyway and y'all are always in the way pulling tarps off, tell the shipper to stop having you tarp".

I had a steel place we run for pull that on me about 4mo ago too. "Has to be tarped, customer requires it and it can't leave without tarps on it". Sure as ####, each receiver I dropped off at they stacked it outside and thought it was funny I had it tarped.

My experience also. I love those tarp loads that I know are strictly winter tamping only ;)

My condolances. As a former mortician, remember, a funeral service is actually for the living family, a semi-formal way of celebrating the gift of everything the lost has left us with. memories, great stories, the happy and stressful times we did together. Even today, with the social distance, the family can get together using the internet/social connections to bring these memories together and to be shared.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Also, sometimes the reason for tarping isn't to keep rain off, it's to keep road spray off. Even if it doesn't affect the product, itll make it look dirty.

A steel supplier in Laredo requires their loads of painted steel tubing (for building steel buildings) to be tarped just in case it might get dirty.

Many thanks... Times such as this I'm so very grateful that I work for and excellent company.

I was getting loaded for a run leaving from my home 20 when I found out. One quick phone call and the load has been moved to another driver to take east, so I can stay home with my family for a few more days.
