A word of advice based on experience. I had to replace a lost card. I went to the SS office ahead of my scheduled start date to get my card replaced. When you are there, you will not get the actual card, they mail it to you. It takes awhile for it to show up. All they give you the day you apply for it is a receipt. I didn't have the actual card when I went to start. I had the receipt and thought that would be good enough. The problem is, the receipt you get from the person at the SS office is supposed to be TWO PAGES. The first page just has your name and is the receipt. The second page is the one that shows your name AND your Social Security number. The guy I went to only gave me the first page, and I didn't know any better. Before I got put on med hold, I was going to have to go back to the SS office and sit there for hours waiting in line to get the proper receipt. Don't waste the time you could be driving in class. Make sure they give you BOTH pages and make sure you look at it while you're there to ensure that your SS # is on the second page. Tell the guy you are going for a job and need proof. If you're starting on the 26th, it's probable your card won't show up by then. Mine took over two weeks. I just got it last week. One other thing-get there early. I would show up at least a half hour before they open. I didn't and had to sit and wait for over 3-1/2 hours before my number was called.
Just a word to the wise.....

How hard is it to get a I-5 route? 4. What about a CA. to TX. route? 5. I see Stevens trucks in CA. all the time and they almost always seem clean, does the Co. pay for truck washes? 6. Is it realistic to expect to be home every month?

Well guys everything went great today. Started the day with sexaul harrasment and a test over fmcsr. Passed that test ok. Then we went to the hill to do some practice driving. Shifting. I went first and was nervous as hell lol. First time around didnt do bad but was rusty lol. Then traded seats with two other students. We all took three turns about three laps each. Second and third time i was great on my upshift and double clutchin. What sucks is downshifting. Work on that tomm i guess. Then we got out at 2 today and went to dps to do our exams. Wow i thought i flunked badly. Told the dude ill c ya tomm, lol. He said why u passed with an 85percent. I was like really. So now i can focus on taken the rest of the tests and workn my way to get my cdl. Hit me up guys be on for a while.

O by the way savage, yes stevens does pay for truck washes. They are very strict about keepn ur truck washed and clean on the inside. We talked about this in class today lol. All i have to say is section 14 is so wack. What does that have to do with my cdl. I can start taken the rest of my tests tomm, not sure what i should take first. For the guys comin to stevens u really cant study for section 14 bc its only in the texas manual. This sucks. I had one day to study for it. Not too many ppl passed today at dps. I think there get it tomm. Were all team oriented in our class, we are all tryn to work together. We had eight guys today on med hold. Three got sent home beleive. Tomm should be fun, there talkn but hookn trailers up tomm.

Thanks for the reply on the truck wash. A simple helper on the pre-trip test, if you can see it (in some cases even if you can't lol) you better check it.
