Im going by memory if it is called (if still) the DOT physical. Been out of the driving game for 7 years but have kept my CDL A license. Has anything new been added to passing the physical test part to allow me to drive/be hired again? Years ago the talk was about neck size and such. Being 6`2 and pushing the 310 mark, I`m not an underwear model anymore. Still in decent condition just not wearing brazil`n thongs anymore on the beach.
World is changing, kids are now grown, looking to start the last chapter in my life, possibly in the big rig again.

They examine the BMI in some places.
The big change is medicines. All Doctors and nurses are required to examine the Pharmacy Monitoring Board for you personally. To learn your medicine prescribing history by law before they see you in person. Every pill you have been given at the pharmacy is on that list at the state level and accessible nationally at any time. They will always know what your recent and current history of medicine is before you try to talk to them or see them.
The CDLIS Clearinghouse is a new thing since Jan1 You will have to upload your CDL information into it at the federal level. In order to be hireable at any trucking company in the USA. That means no positive drug results.
The CDL in your pocket is probably tier two. Once you have DOT medical card in hand now which is TIED to your CDL, you fill out and sign a Tier One for interstate and intrastate commerce and go back to work trucking.
DMV's Revenuers and Testing facilities and schools are closed now due to Covid19. Feds have ordered no law enforcement vs expired CDL and Expired DOT medicals until after June 30. They have special exempt trucking now for certain vital cargo so you toss logbook or unplug ELD. And roll straight through.LakeErieHillbilly Thanks this. -
When did that go into effect?

Neck size; the DOT doctor is looking for sleep apnea.
Some get a kickback if they recommend a sleep study.

With the economy as it is now; I'd look at refrigerated companies such as Dutch Maid Logistics in Willard, OH.

6'2" 310 pounds is not decent shape. You might have issues with physical. What size neck do you have?

Pfft. Most physicals only ask you to read a eye chart, do a pee test, show range of movement, check your hearing, make sure your not on any drugs and if you are, make sure you have a doctors note for what ever your taking.
My doc passes me each year and I am 435. Working on getting it down. It was 500# -
The problems began when my state mandated at the state house a new law requiring all doctors and nurses at the offices here to inspect the PMB data on everyone wanting to see them. Even dentists etc that started in mid 2018. I showed up at a doctor as a propective patient and was rejected based on that new law which went into effect that year a week prior due to a filled medicine. I was a month ahead at that time with plenty on hand. She threw me out. Did not want anything to do with it. A form of fear on her part. Just as well, she ended up closing the clinic.
It was further modified now that Phamarcists can now intercept your scrips and deny you a medicine they feel is too strong or otherwise a product of dr shopping. -
