Been there, done that. I also had some regular customers who were the more extreme kind of entertainers. Sometimes they would say "I've got six appointments. Each one will be about twenty minutes. Hang with me. I'll pay your meter rate plus an extra X amount"
What a way to make a living! Glad that was years ago.

Yep. This was a small military town in North Carolina. Most of the working girls were under suspended driving license. They weren't big time enough to have a regular driver. I was also approached a couple of times by the local drug runners who were also steady customers. I was asked if I was interested in transporting. Ie mule work. I said Thanks but I couldn't do that.

Oh yeah! McAllen Tx. Lincoln Al. The south side of Indianapolis.
Seriously though, there has been some really colorful stops. I visited Graceland a few years ago. Recently I had a whole weekend in Nashville. Also strolled the Riverwalk in San Antonio. I had a very nice stay in the famous little town of Belle Fourche South Dakota. Oh, and never forget The French Quarter. A Monday night during the winter time and it was slamming. I can just imagine Saturday night in the summer.

I've never set foot in Lincoln, Alabama or NOLA.

Nashville. I drove for WSXI two and a half years, so I did mingle the locals a bit while there. I used to rent a room at the motel by the Taco Bell instead of staying at the company motel.

Visited Graceland, too. Didn't know Elvis had a microwave in the 1970s. I never saw a microwave until the early 1980s.

You forgot to mention El Paso. I suppose Mogadishu or Beirut is worse than El Paso.

El Paso isn't a bad city at all. At least the areas I've been to but I've never felt unsafe there.

I can't say a bad thing about El Paso. It's my dad's cradle. He was born there in 1925. I've spent a lot of time there off duty as well as on. Dad and I took a trip there in 2001. It was his first time in 14 years. It was his last visit to his hometown. He became invalid four years later and died in 09.

The folks at Graceland may have just redecorated the house. The might have sold many of his original furnishings to collectors. Then they just stuck the microwave in. Or perhaps he really had one. In the 50s he had a device that made ice cubes in one minute. Also a car with an open reel tape player. Long before even 8 tracks. Also a video tape machine in the late 60s that was worth around 10 grand in today's money.
He had the coin, and loved gadgets.
