Here is the jest, I have 2 and half plus years experience OTR teaming. I have been teaming with my woman for a little over a year. We are located in Lafayette, LA. We are in no means struggling, but only get paid $.50/mile, $1000/week guaranteed. I have called Boyle and Western International Gas and Cylinder, both have been sending us emails weekly to get to orientation. They offer $1600+ minimums, how dangerous is hauling acetylene, and munitions? We haul plenty of Haz-Mat, but both of the aforementioned, have her concerned. Yes we have the LTL companies in our neck of the woods, but they are small terminals. R+L, our prime choice, runs 3 teams, one has been there for 17+years, the other 2 for 6+ years, the TM told me they would have to quit for us to get on. Should we make a move to either? Also U.S. Xpress is offering
X-amount for teams hauling doubles, plus a higher pay rate than our current employer; is the money, are the miles what they say? I am more comfortable to go with a guarantee, personally. We have clean driving, criminal records, etc. I know this is not the best time to job hunt, and we will wait until this shutdown blows over, but we are tired of being underpaid. At least we are working right? We want a vertical move, at least $.65/mile or $1500/week for what we bring to the table.

No, not unreasonable, make the move to either one.
How many of those type trucks have you seen wrecked? Probably none.

You are correct, we have witnessed more dry vans on fire, maybe one tanker in the last 2.5 years.

Don't worry Baltimore eats a gas tanker at one of three places annually. The last one I remember of melted three or four houses. Serves them right for building on far side of a curve like that.

Munitions should be the one type of load for as long we are America you will never be short of. McAlester OK will be where it's at among other Arsenals. By themselves the bombs are stupid. You can cart them around on our bad roads all day. The Military has strict control of the arming and GPS etc that goes on the ends generally. I see nothing but a market that is blowing up as a good thing. /pun.

The biggest bonus to Munitions is you never get lost. Bases are as big as Rhode Island and there is a dedicated parking spot bigger than three of you just for Munitions near the gate every one. If I had a choice of dying I rather do it in a boom and get it over with rather than flop around as the lungs filled up.

    Finally but not last.

"Tinpot DOT MrBigBadge": Whatcha got on there Driver? (As if he did not notice the Class 1.A Diamonds...)

    Bombs.

    "Right, get going see you."

There is only three loads that Coops don't do. Bombs, Bees and Rendering Fat.

You can try a private cryogenic company also. They pay teams very well! However Air Products is the only one without driver facing cameras.

Air Products has a team position in New Orleans, that I will call about Monday. I do not know if they will take us, we have over three and a half years experiences combined, but not individually. Other than the experience requirements, we do meet the other criteria.

Just throwing Don Hummer Trucking out there because I've heard good things recently about their teams, particular how well the treat their husband and wife teams. I don't know anything about them really, just passing along the info I heard. Unfortunately, the website isn't much help but you can see what their current benefits package is if you follow the links.
