This also depends on if the green light turned on. But yes if its open, doesnt hurt to drive thru and get flagged on.

in some states, if your bobtailing you don't have to roll over the scale, but can around it and stop so they can get your numbers and then go on

It's different from state to state. In my opinion, there is no reason to go through "just because".

A truck is a truck even if it's not pulling a trailer. Read the signs before the scale and follow them. It's nice for truck drivers to have a theory of why they don't need to enter the scales. Their theory may feel very convincing. The judge isn't likely to ignore the law and go with a truck driver theory.

Nobody gets a ticket for entering the scale in error. Drive like the cops and the boss are watching and make your decisions accordingly.

Agreed. If it says ALL COMMERCIAL vehicles must pull in, well guess what kids, pass by without a green light and risk a nice set of bracelets. ;)

Well, the only theory that I work on is if the scales say bob tails dont have to enter, I dont if I'm bob tailing.

    I have a better theory...

If PREPASS is red, I enter the scales...

    Any other indication... HAMMER DOWN!
