I've got a buddy that puts up photos of his truck on FB regularily. In winter he's running in 8-10" of fresh snow, 6 sets of triples on the drives and a steer chain lol. To me that's trucking. Go to battle in the woods and make it home with no new scars.

Steer chain... Never lock the door or wear a seat belt.

When it gets bad enough to chain up the steer axle it's time to go home. If you can get there.
I remember seeing D-6s and skidders turning brodies on glare ice where the snow had started to melt then froze solid.
Running a '6 that's sliding sideways through a switchback--- and picking up speed--- makes you wish you'd taken that job at the shoe store when you had a chance.

Dark30, Iron on ever corner, decked up then powered out on a beaver slide. And backwards you go. Where's that load light switch.

Oh yeah. The joys of being first truck in. If you're lucky you'll fetch up against the bank or maybe a tree or a stump but you won't hit it hard enough to knock your trailer ####-eyed.
I've spent all the time I ever want to spend with a couple of bottle jacks, wooden blocks, and a choker putting a trailer back on.
And if, on top of all that, you're stuck you get to watch the trucks behind you creep carefully by and take your loading spot.

    Rugerfan and okiedokie Thank this.
