Now that I only do this part time, I told them to give the oversize stuff to the young guns. I just want to blend in with the crowd, not stand apart from it...I don't need any added attention drawn to myself anymore...

...and I know nothing about the "big money" part...

I personally prefer to “stand out” by having a rep for being good at what I do, not to say “hey look at me”. That attracts more than just the attention you want.

I'm hoping that's the reason they keep me on the payroll, and not just because I'm "meat in the seat";)

I'm not on Valley's specialized division on paper but almost everything I haul is considered specialized freight. I do a lot of jobsite moves as well as hauling John Deere from Dubuque, Davenport and Waterloo.

I had thought about something like that. Should be easy on the beams at least. But i wonder since you are not technically anchored to anything if it really counts. But hey it at least works in a pinch.

Im making one big bundle officer, trailer and all.

Irony, i liked being anonymous and quietly moving freight, and now everyone knows my name, go figure.

There are downsides to being high profile. Most of which involve everyone calling you with thier pet projects.
