Earl Scheib the company, was in operation up to 2010.
At that point, they offered the locations to the operating management, as a sort of franchise deal. Some are still around, operating under the Earl Scheib name.

Yeah that is the price I remember. I only remember hearing the ad when I was in So Cal. My bad on the rattle can inferrence. Got that from some one that thought poorly of Earl apparently.

I actually trained as a body man for filling and painting etc. However most of my attention was on rebuilding engines. Particularly post war V8s pushrod. I decided not to pursue body work as a job because of one person. We slaved over his car, dents from a hail storm. Painted in primer after sanding. (And rust removal and so on)

You missed a spot here and there. *Point *Point.

    You do it sir.

    WOT?

To explain, we were children. Big kids in highschool auto shop working essentially gratis for a whole week. 10 of us 5 days I guess around oh...300 man hours. Paint was cheap. And filler etc.

    NOT a retail shop.

    Fun fact.

Earl Scheib pre-recorded all this commercials with price increases so that even after he died you could see him in a commercial offering up his paint jerbs lol.

Had my wheels polished after all the salt and winter conditions. Just wow! What a difference.

I remember. When first started. It was $19.95. Then kept going up in the years by $10 each time.

Macco is another of the budget places to look at.

Some friends have had good luck with them a few decades ago. But we were taking in stripped down rolling shells with no windows, bumpers, or chrome/trim.

I had a 67 Plymouth, in 1985, Lady had it painted by Earl. Also had the vinyl top done. Top was peeling , but the paint held up amazingly good. Not much of a shine. Word back then was, it all had to be completely stripped off, before repainting. Once painted by Earl, it was ruined forever. Lol.
