“The brokers make too much”

My no button works like a charm! No problems here! That’s ok salesman told me no! I know he didn’t even have the load yet, just saw it on a web site or something. Maybe even double brokered! I could have bid it cheaper than brokered it myself, but I bid loads like I’m going to haul them. Then if I can’t haul it on the board it goes. Well maybe, I call my regular’s first.

 

It is amazing how that word NO works. Every load I haul either pays what I want or I say NO.

Some of these so called owner-operators should try it sometime. Instead they let some pushy broker run over them, then cry because the rates are too cheap.

 

I wouldn't say every load pays what I want, I've only hauled one load at 10 bucks a mile and it went all of about 10 miles.

 

"Lets get the govt involved" is the adult version of "DAAAAADDD!!! SISSY HIT MEEEEE!!"

How about obren goes back to his homeland if he doesnt like the business envirenment in ours? First they crush the lane rates by undercutting everyone on it, then theyre gonna bring government in to fix what they broke?

One eventually has to contemplate who's government will be ushered in to solve this issue? Ours, or theirs.


My great grandparents were polish and russian. I have no issue with slavs as humans, and have ukrainian friends my kids call uncle. But they ran away from socialism, not into it. my prejudice is only toward ideology.

 

That's only true if you don't get to be a cry boy yourself when a bunch of frugal Slavs are still running for 1.25 pm.
In essence, I really don't have a problem with a free market idea and a minimal government control.

I have a problem with tough guys saying no governmental control on one hand, calling everybody else sissies, on the other hand, they say "OH look at them White Volvo how they undercutting us, they should never be given CDL in the first place!" We need to regulate immigration laws so that they don't come here!" - which in essence, is also crying for some governmental help.

To me, a real libertarian owner operator is someone above it all. He has such a good service and reputation that no zip tighten and duck taped, White Volvo is ever able to convince his costumers to turn away from him. He is not concerned with anybody else's rates nor does he care about immigration or whatever the heck potentially can hinder his business. He will never ask a government to intervene in any aspect of his business.
