I was a contractor for first fleet. Money was okay but the hours I was doing 65 a week. Went back on road.

The guys inside kept trying get me to come apply and get on. Looking back I should have done it. Had a few would of be able get me on. Starting out was $22hr to sit in a forklift and feed the belt with bales of cardboard.

Never too late, LoL~! (You still an O/O?) We're always hiring, ya know..... ;) Not bad $ to drag a towmotor around, though~! I'll stick to driving for the extra coin, though..... If a spotter position (well, there's only one at my barn) opened up.... I'd almost (maybe?) take it, tbh.

No never was O/O. In the LTL industry. Once you make that LTL money it’s hard to go anywhere else.

I hear ya. Estes finally called me when I got in w/FAB. <<< Pretty good (great?!?) hi fig gig as well, works GREAT for me. My home is my 2nd hub....taking 30's, bringing T/T home, and still banking rather well. Probably a bit less than you, but hey...I'll take it. Not saying I get treated 'special' but not saying I don't ...because what I don't know doesn't hurt me, haha!

Good for you, tho...bro. The flexibility of my job is 'bank' in and of itself, to me. Can you back doubles the length of a football field? Me neither..but sure tried. Was a 'challenge' when I pulled for FX/LH..... probably not 'legal' but... hey, I was in... I did rather well, methinks, considering.

I was also 6th out of 20 breaking, moving, and re'arranging a set...out of the FX/LH competition.... in around.. heck i dunno...2005 perhaps? ;) Dude running the program called me 'pintle hook Tom' ... haha!

Was fun in its day...I've found my 'forever' .. as well, methinks!

Carry on.. SORRY so long winded, LoL~!! :)

I can back them yes, for about a few feet and then I mangle them up into one another.

I worked at Estes for 2 years running that extraboard. Was a good gig and $ was really good but me being in Midwest they liked to keep me EAST and I just can not do that. A buddy who is 80 miles from me stayed in TX OK KS CO MS etc. Used to make me so mad. I got tired of hotels and going to Jersey City. Me and a buddy from Estes went over to R+L got a dedicated team bid to Cali. Sucks but the check is steady every week. Estes I stayed around 1700 week gross. I stay north of 2 now. Just depends on how much they wanna play around before going home.

Wife graduates December. I will let her get settled in some where and I prolly will go back to Fedex ground and go home everyday. I had a great gig doing around 80k going home every day. Benefits were horrible. Raised them to the price of a Ferrari payment everymonth. Wont need them when she starts working.

I am just trying go back home everyday. Being gone gets OLD.

Oh, wow!! You sure did get your feet wet the hard way, no pun intended~!! I could have tolerated FX/LH for longer than a year..(My contractor was awesome and sooooooo accommodating!) The teaming, bro...that killed it ...for me, anyhow. I was 40, he was 20 something...and Bobby Big Rigger assumed his position as the lead driver...(he had left CRST, go figure...)..Straight from CMH to SAC, off weekends... just had a new son and a 4 y/o girl, but.... was do'able.... other'n him.

Discussed taking the wife on board....she's had her CDL B for years, and her A permit... but kids were toooooo young. It just didn't work out for me.

Estes would have been my 'cup'o'tea' but just never worked out....nor did they work me in....tough GIG to get into here. R & L ... i've known of 'em, just not 'round here.

Man, I wish you the best; keep me posted! I'm just a 'shout' away; yet not much I could even help you with, lol~! You got this; be safe~!!
