It was just a guess because it is in the steering column and sends vibrations and groaning like a power steering pump makes when its shot. Used to make same noise in my car

But the thing that throws me off is it doesnt do it when in use . Only at idle. Atleast for now. So it could definatly be something else . I am just a dumb trucker lol

 

Did you check the fluid? Low?

 

Ya fluid is a good level . But i do notice oil all over the bottle lately . That was a couple weeks ago i noticed that. But fluid level hasnt gone down. And now this week has been the noises. I shouldve told the mechanic in the shop yesterday , see if he would know. But it slipped my mind

 

If you posted it, I missed it.. (link?) .. and if you are comparing me to him... a.) I'm not retired~ b.) I didn't pull big pharma~ c.) all the above~ d.) everything else. I don't claim to know much...only have 20 years or so; not 40.
