Yeah.. I agree with you on that... material things... I don't buy stuff... unless it's absolutely necessary... everything I have besides the car is in a storage unit 10 x 20 ft
![]()
...and I have been cleaning that up... getting rid of stuff.. maybe will try to sell at Marketplace... if I have time...
I know a guy in Rio, he lives in a small apartment and has practically nothing... his furniture is one bed, one small table, 2 chairs and a sofa... Refrigerator, stove and clothes washer... I wish I could do that...
I have traveled hitchhiking in Brasil for months with only one little bag on my shoulder... I was living on the fields, construction sites, public squares... you name it... once in a while would save enough to go into a cheap, cheap flea motel and take a shower and sleep on a bed... I was 20 yrs old and loved that "life style"...
But I confess that I have a hard time detaching from things that I have and I like... and I have that "rat" mentality... to keep stuff, even if it's old because I may need it in the future...![]()
So... I don't buy stuff any more... just use what I have... I have clothes that are 20 yrs old or older.. they still fit me and don't look bad at all...
There's a Goodwill store next to my storage and I plan on taking a bunch of stuff over there...
What if it Snows?

All this talk about t-rex arms.
Just think if they had dollar stores an Walmart back then...the Trex would've been
It's crazy how in shape they were, being as they couldn't do a REAL pushup.
Know why trex's were meat eater? It was easier then CPR. Not like he could dig a hole with those tiny arms. Better to just eat the dead thing.
Nothing like a day out rowing a boat..unless your a trex.
Remember folks, Life may kick you in the crotch when your down, your dispatcher really might hate you, it could be true THEY really are out to get you, but at lest...you'll always have this happy thought to come back to when life is the ####s.

Still 'my' today, @Dave_in_AZ ... (yay, this thing has underscores..my Dell laptop got coffee ruint....) anyway...here's a fairytale.. if you will; fill in the blanks as and if you know them.
A gentleman named Pat (applesauce) 'sounded name wise' like Dave's truck. He wanted to expound on trucking, and LLc'd a 2nd flat/open deck Elkhorn truck up somewhere in the NW but not Pacific; more CN bordering.. iirc. So, as he signs on .. let's say 'Derek' (< ficticious name.. i believe) who was around the parts also, always 'broke down' so I heard...
And...two grown men don't play well together, oftentimes... (Dave and I can tell ya, hehehe....(sorry)) especially when the O/O is 50+ and the 'onboarder' is maybe 30. . . things go awry.
Something in the fairy tale land of 'nobody paying fair' woes, in I believe 2018.... the behest of the O/O went unanswered, unminded...or neither nor either. The contracted employee complained a bit loudly, and caught ears of the unintended.. with an acronym similar to, but later than. . . this guy...... HQR. No wonder the contracted guy also went 69.
I explained to the best of my ability at the moment, and my good buddy BRAT () can confirm or deny. I keep my word...although late.. I forget a 'day' to y'all is offtracked from mine..and the vamp drivers out here!! << well, of course, me!
Best to all; thanks again, Dave. PM if any confusion or misinformation...or just plain WTF moments, haha!
I'll be seeing you more often, @D.Tibbitt and Ms. @Rocks ... or at least read y'all's trials and tribs!
Gonna catch up on a few more 'thingys' here.... and sleep like a 'normal' guy .. perhaps!
Talk soon, quietly~!

Friend of mine from Cabo Frio, Rio, sent me this beautiful picture... and made me "envious"... Even though beaches are still closed for the public, she and her friend were able to go in the water un noticed...
She said it was awesome to be the only ones there... But she had one eye on the waves and another on the cops...
