In Ontario what is the max legal weight that can be loaded on 53ft dry-van tandem? Driving day cab.

Is there a MTO link I can show to dispatch max weight limit for 53ft tandem trailer?

No cut and dry answer on this one as the tare weight will vary from truck to truck and trailer to trailer.

Scale your unit empty, then look at your cab card for your registered weight. Do the math. As far as axles, you can legally go 5500 steers, 17900 on drives and trailer tandems. In KG of course. And as long as you’re registered for 41300kg. Which is max I do believe for Ontario. With a tandem.

Dispatch gave load with 55000lbs, said it’s legal. Another driver tells me 44000lbs is legal, dispatch is wrong. Even though I was not taking the load, I want to know who is right. Sorry might be stupid question as I just shunt. As a shunt driver I trust the driver and want correct the dispatch with proof.

You can probably scale 55 in a day van no problem. I take 54-55 lbs all the time. And I have a sleeper truck. Just be sure to scale it.

    this

we took 44,000 # to the states all the time, in reefer trailers.

dryvan way lighter, and canada gross weight higher than usa

It's been a while that had to worry about weight in CAN, I thought at least in ON with a 72 in spread you could go 44000lbs per tandem.

111000 gross. in theory but I'm sure there is a caveat somewhere.

All depends on what you’re registered for. I know what I’m registered for in Ontario. And no way I can scale 110000 gross. Axle spread or not.
