My experience running 100% legal, if anyone cares.

And in a slow truck you're doing 3400 legally?!? You might get that fly on the CB, but it ain't happening unless you're running terminal to terminal. I averaged 3500mi/wk in a 315 HP 62 mph truck in '87-'89, and I'm here to tell you driver, legal running it wasn't! But I am just an old-timer who never went to some newfangled trucking school to learn how to do it right.

 

Been there a hundred times, once it took 2 days to get loaded, and that place smells. When you leave, be CAREFUL, small town of south bay uses their radar on big trucks everyday. Where is that load going?????

 

If you're going around the east side of the lake, and north, for sure follow the truck route. It's posted well.

 

You got enough LEGAL time to run it today?? Or is it a 2 day trip for ya!!!!

as I said, they automatically figure a 15 minute fudge factor on your logs, if your trying to be too anal and tight, they will start to get nosey about it.

My boss tells me to use my best judgement as to how to log the time at a dock. As far as meals go, it's all line 1 unless I'm hauling some type of flammable, then they expect me to log meals on line 4.

it can either be in writing or a known company policy. We used to carry a slip of paper in our permit books that stated we are allow to log meal breaks on line 1.
